Stift Ossiach
In co-operation with the Carinthian Summer festival and the
Academy of Music it is the first time that pieces of visual art are to
be seen in the newly adapted rooms of the former abbey building
of Ossiach. Within the scope of K08, artists, both male and female,
have been invited to grapple directly with the specific local and
thematic realities of the abbey. In correspondence to the present
use of the abbey building the emphasis of these installations lies on
sound objects and tone and noise installations. Under the titles of
Versailles Reloaded and Carinthian Soul Thomas Hoke stages a
room of audio-visual live experience in the Carinthian Sound Room
and invites you to a Cosmic Sound Bath in the Yard. Cornelius
Kolig has created a novel sound installation called The Acoustic
Reanimation for the Music Room. In the foyer of the abbey Uwe
Bressnik and the artist duo Ramacher & Einfalt show medial space
installations, and the exhibition is complemented by Heiko Bressnik’s
painting produced with the pigment of a pulverized trumpet and Uta
Puxkandl-Hildebrand’s sonorous ball, whereas the ceramic objects
and wall installations of Gerold Tusch allude to the baroque interior
of the abbey.
